 Fr Emil Blaser OP - RIP (1942 - 2020)

Our founder Fr Emil was a Dominican friar with many years of experience in leadership and broadcasting.  He presented radio and television religious programmes from 1976. In 1995 he presented a weekly Catholic TV programme on MNET. A former provincial of the Dominicans in SA, he was also associate secretary general of the SACBC and while there conceived Radio Veritas. He also had many years of experience as a pastor. He was well known nationally and internationally in media circles. He was a member of the Catholic Media Advisory Committee for the SA Catholic Bishops’ Conference. He once said, "There is nothing wrong in dreaming. And it is particularly rewarding when one's dream becomes reality."

Olinda Orlando - Creative Director: Programming, News and Series

Olinda, a former Dominican pupil from de Montfort Convent, is now, in her own words, a Dominican granny. She hails from Uitenhage in the Eastern Cape. Olinda is a very talented and creative person. She was very instrumental in the establishment of Radio Veritas with Fr Emil in 1998 and is the brains behind programming on the station.  For a long time she and her husband Marc were co-ordinators of Marriage Encounter weekends.  Olinda is very well read, which makes her a 'walking Catholic Encyclopedia' and a great source of inspiration for news, views and great ideas.  She carries with her lots of insight and warmth as a sensitive human being and her knowledge and experience of the Church are invaluable. She is also a creative writer.

Khanya Litabe

Khanya Litabe - Station Manager

Khanya is our station manager and also presents weekday breakfast programme Matins with former SABC broadcaster Colin Yorke. A convert to the Catholic faith, Khanya is from Phuthaditjhaba in the Free State province. He is currently reading for his Masters degree in journalism and media studies at Wits University. He was founder and organiser of Radio Veritas Choir Festival - a catalyst for most choirs within the Archdiocese of Johannesburg.  He is a talented computer technologist and musician who has played the organ at Our Lady of the Assumption parish in Molapo, St Peter Claver parish in Pimville, Soweto and Sacred Heart parish in Katlehong.  He was producer of the album An African Praise by Kristo Nkosi Choir from KwaThema.

Genni Rogers - Admin Manager

Genni is a most experienced office administrator and works half days, keeping our books and database up to date. She brings a vast administrative experience to Radio Veritas. Her brightness and efficiency make her a valuable member of staff.

Allan Phadi

Allan Phadi - Senior Technical Producer

Allan "Kenny" Phadi hails from Orlando West in Soweto and goes to St Martin De Porres parish. He completed his audio training with Inhouse Records. He started out on his radio career at Fusion Fm and later joined Radio Veritas as a technical producer. He also presents Sunday Soul Sessions from 16h00 to 18h00 on Sundays and is the golden voice behind the sound of the station.

Tiiso Mosoeu -  Production Assistant & Presenter

Tiiso Mosoeu is a music-driven, ambitious young man from Our Lady of the Assumption parish in Molapo, Soweto. His love for radio stems from the passion he has for music. He obtained a National Media Studies Diploma at Boston Media House,  majoring in radio broadcasting, programming and public relations. He started out at Radio Veritas as a voice-over artist for Youthwise show and moved on to being producer of Matins breakfast show with Fr. Emil Blaser.  He now presents Tug of Love every weekday afternoon from 13h00 to 16h00. He also produces and presents a Saturday morning programme 729 Blessings Avenue.

Thato Mokoena - CD Librarian and Technical Producer

Thato Mokoena is an enthusiastic choir conductor from Christ the New Man in Garankuwa, Pretoria. He travels about 45 minutes each day to work because he loves working at Radio Veritas. He has had experience working as a news and current affairs officer at SABC's Motsweding FM.  At Radio Veritas he is responsible for the music library and the initial compilation of music reports for ICASA and SAMRO. He is presenter of programmes in Setswana: Dira Pharologanyo on Mondays from 18h30, Bua le Sechaba on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 11h00, Gospel Top 10 on Fridays at 11h00, and Loeto lwa Tumelo on Saturdays from 14h00 to 16h00.

Lucia Zwane

Lucia Zwane - Database maintenance and administration

Lucia comes from Ennerdale and matriculated at Riverlea High School in Johannesburg. She started at Radio Veritas in 2007 as a temp, to get our database up to date and to help with our research programme. We soon discovered a very pleasant and hardworking person who would add efficiency to our operation. She is now our office administrator and personal assistant to Genni Rogers, our admin manager. She also ensures our monthly compliance with ICASA.

Nomsa Zulu - Housekeeper

Nomsa comes from Newcastle in KwaZulu-Natal.  She keeps our premises clean and is a mother to us with all our needs. An enthusiastic singer yet calm and collected in nature, she took over from her cousin (now late, Octavia Zulu) as housekeeper at Radio Veritas in December 2015.
